AKOFS Offshore has key experience and a management system from Aker Drilling to re-enter the drilling market. AKOFS has recently been involved at several occasions on opportunities related to taking “stranded newbuilt drilling units” to the market.
This effort continues, and special focus is placed on possibilities for introducing a step change to emission by applying anchored units for development drilling in moderate water depth. With the huge electrification effort for such fields, and normally always a production platform in the vicinity when doing development drilling, the possibility for getting power from shore / ocean wind via a fixed installation is considered to such a step change.
